The Bright Side Of Single Parenting
With the rate of divorce on the rise many people are left raising children on their own. Sometimes the unfairness of crime leaves a child with just one parent to take care of them and these parents are faced with single parenting issues.
This can be emotional, financial and even mental issues that these parents deal with on a day-to-day basis.
The most critical single parent issue one can face is being “single”. You are alone and have to do everything by yourself with no support. You have to stand on your own and have no one to lean on or a shoulder to cry on when things get difficult. Every decision you make has to be your own with no help. You have to take care of a job to provide for your children and be able to be there for your kids when they sick, transport them to and from school etc. Two parents offer support to each other financially, emotionally and mentally. To have two incomes in a household tales the stress away as there are two people who can help each other with the expenses. A husband and wife offer emotional support to each other and one know that they can support each other through decision-making.
Challenges Faced By Single Parents
Being a single parent is not always a choice but a reality that many have to face. Single parenting issues should not de-motivate someone. Single parenting issues are challenges and challenges should be taken head on with every determination to succeed.
Single parenting issues teach one to become self-reliant. You now depend on your self. A mother will now try to fix things around the house herself. A dad will now learn to bath and feed the kids and take care of the household. The children will become more responsible by appreciating the things they have because now there is only one income. Children become more responsible. Life becomes such that a single parent stands on his/her own and become a pillar of strength for themselves as well as their children. They become great role models for their children.
Although it is good for a child to grow-up with two parents, in situations where there is abuse and violence, it forces one to leave that relationship and the children now have to grow-up in a single parent environment. This would be better environment for the kids than to be subjected to an abusive, violent family. A single parent can provide for these kids sometimes much better than a family with both parents could. That’s looking at the bright side of single parenting issues.
