There are several different Washington single parent grants available for single moms and dads and their children. These programs may be used to provide additional funding for your daily needs.
We all have needs like paying for food, rent, medical insurance, daycare, and several other services, but not everyone can afford to pay for these needs. In order to receive benefits from these programs they must be applied for separately and you must be eligible.
First we will discuss Washington single parent grants you may be qualified for which can help you pay for daycare services for your children. Probably the best program available in your state for this purpose is the Working Connections Child Care Program. This is the perfect solution for individuals who are working and/or attending school and need someone to watch their kids for them. Best of all, this program does not choose your child care provider for you; you may choose whoever you like as long as they are licensed or in the home of a family member. To apply simply contact the Department of Social and Health Services.
It may also be necessary to find social programs that help you afford adequate medical coverage for your children. The Healthy Options Program is the state’s Medicaid program which provides low cost or even free medical insurance to low income families and individuals. If you are not eligible for this program, there are still options available such as the Washington State Health Insurance Pool, or WSHIP. This is a nonprofit charity that can provide a quality health insurance program who have been denied coverage in the past.
When you are a single mom or dad, it can often be difficult simply putting food to the table. This is when programs such as the Washington Basic Food Program can really be of service. In order to qualify for receiving benefits from this program, you must meet the income requirements and must be a legal citizen of the United States or qualifying immigrant. There is also the WIC program which is intended solely for expecting mothers and their children up to the age of 5.
Other Washington single parent grants include the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families program which provides you with a certain amount of money each month that you may use at your discretion as long as it is for products approved by the program. These benefits are typically provided via an easy to use debit card that receives a fresh balance each month. This program is only provided to receipts for periods between 1 month and 3 years as it is not meant to be a permanent fix.
